The Wendy Walk Tri State has become an amazing success.  The 2010 was held in three major cities on the same day – New York, Los Angeles and Miami.  In 2011 we staggered the walks so that Wendy could attend each one.  Her attendance at these walks was an amazing and uplifting thing.  As yiou may know, these walks were created and organized by Wendy's children, Ali in New York, Matt in Los Angeles, and in Miami by Wendy's daughter Jackie Michael and Stephanie Rosen, Wendy's brother and sister-in-law.  Wendy has a rare form of cancer, called Liposarcoma.  To date, Liposarcoma can be treated, but not cured.  Because of the rarity of this cancer, the cure depends solely on new research.  Sarcoma researchers must rely primarily on private funding, because government funds are used for more well-known cancers.

Because of the generous donations of our family, friends, associates and even complete strangers, a $250,000 research grant was awarded.  Click on this link to read the press release.

The Wendy Walk Miami took place on the Palm and Hibiscus Islands. Close to 100 people gathered at Palm Island Park at 8:30 am on April 18th and walked three miles around both Palm and Hibiscus Islands.  For Wendy Walk Tri State 2011 we will walk the same route on Sunday, April 17, 2011.

A donation of $25 per person and $50 per family was required to participate. And participate you did.  There were over 150 people that walked with us or donated in Miami alone and we raised more than $225,000 between all three walks for a total of over $500,000 for the two years.  We are still taking donations if you weren't able to donate before the walk.
